On behalf of the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) board and more than eleven hundred employees, I welcome you back to Orlando for this year’s APTA TRANSform Conference & EXPO. As host agency, our LYNX team, along with our city, county and regional partners, are excited to say hello once again with a friendly smile!

Since our inception in 1992, LYNX has been instrumental in providing public transportation services to Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. With a service area spanning 2,500 square miles and a resident population of more than 2.3 million, LYNX and our regional commuter rail partner, SunRail, offer a full array of multi-modal transit options for you to travel throughout our region. So, get out and ride our systems for free just by showing your conference badge.

Some of you will head to downtown Orlando and ride on our newest public/private partnership with the city, Beep (a local autonomous mobility provider) and us. I am sure you will enjoy this ride, which complements our bus rapid transit service, LYMMO. We are very proud of this innovative technology pilot.

While in town, you can expect temperatures to be between the high 60s to mid-80s, which makes for great weather to go exploring during your downtime.

This region has lots of exciting things for you to do. Whether you’re looking to experience some open-air adventures at our renowned theme parks, partake in our unforgettable eco-tourism experiences or dine and shop at one of our outdoor entertainment complexes, we have you covered. I guarantee you will have a blast.

Central Florida is the top family tourist destination in the world. So, if you need suggestions, stop by our host desk and simply ask for ideas. We have some of the best employees in our industry here onsite to help make your visit world-class, whether this is your first time to Orlando or your one hundredth.

Thank you for being a reader of Passenger Transport and for your continuous support of our great industry. We are excited to host you here in Orange County and Orlando and to make this conference experience the best you have ever had.

See you at the show!
