COMTO Honors ‘Women Who Move the Nation’

The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) hosted its 14th annual Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation awards breakfast May 21 in Washington, DC, honoring female trailblazers in the transportation industry. Many of the honorees are APTA members.
They are:

- Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor, Miami-Dade County, FL
- Nikki Frenney, vice president, customer success, MV Transportation, Dallas, TX
- Lori M.K. Kahikina, executive director & CEO, Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation, HI
- Coree Cuff Lonergan, CEO/general manager, Broward County Transit, FL
- Yvonne Lopez-Diaz, vice president, HNTB, Lake Mary, FL
- Yetunde Olumide, CFO, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, DC
- Dottie Watkins, CEO, CapMetro, Austin, TX
- Eve Williams, president, Dikita Enterprises, Dallas, TX
“Uplifting all lived experience at the decision-making table is one of COMTO’s core values,” said April Rai, COMTO president & CEO. “Recognizing these leaders is an intentional act of appreciation, inspiring the next generation of transportation leaders to emulate their strength, resilience, and perseverance.”
To date, COMTO has inducted 152 women into its Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation signature class of leaders. The honorees encompass a variety of multi-modal transportation, spanning both the public and private sectors.
