On behalf of the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 Mobility Conference and International Bus Roadeo. We are honored to host you here in Salt Lake City, a vibrant and rapidly growing capital city where innovation, mobility, and quality of life come together. During your time with us, we look forward not only to sharing our experience at UTA, but also to learning from the collective expertise and perspectives you bring from across the industry.
UTA’s journey reflects decades of partnership and progress. Since 1970, we have evolved from a modest local bus system into a fully integrated multimodal network serving communities across six counties along Utah’s Wasatch Front. Today, that system includes bus rapid transit, microtransit, vanpool, ski bus service, an extensive bus network, light rail, and commuter rail—all designed to connect people to opportunity and support the region’s continued growth.
Our rail system continues to serve as the backbone of regional mobility, anchored by more than 130 miles of service across TRAX light rail and FrontRunner commuter rail—the spine of it all.
Key hubs such as Salt Lake Central, Murray Central, West Valley Central, Ogden Central, and Provo Central Station function as essential connection points that link neighborhoods, employment centers, and major destinations across the Wasatch Front. Ongoing investments in FrontRunner double-tracking, fleet modernization, and station improvements continue to strengthen system reliability and expand capacity for the future.
UTA’s momentum in recent years has been significant: three BRT lines completed (including the launch of Midvalley Express (MVX) in April), expanded innovative mobility services, modernized customer tools, and major capital investments that will shape UTA for decades. In recognition of this progress, UTA was honored in 2025 as APTA’s Outstanding Public Transportation System, and our transit network played a meaningful role in Utah’s successful bid to once again host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2034.

Beyond transit, we hope you take time to experience what makes this region so distinctive. Salt Lake City offers a walkable downtown, vibrant neighborhoods, and a welcoming urban core framed by the natural beauty of the Wasatch Mountains just minutes away. Whether exploring cultural districts, enjoying local dining, or experiencing the ease of traveling by transit between destinations, you will see how thoughtful investment in mobility helps shape a connected and thriving region.
We are excited to have you here. We hope your time in Salt Lake City—and your experience across UTA’s system—is both productive and memorable. Welcome to Utah and enjoy the 2026 Mobility Conference and International Bus Roadeo.
