Sen. Tina Smith to Address APTA Legislative Conference

Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN), Ranking Member of the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development, will speak at APTA’s Legislative Conference, May 18-20, in Washington, DC.
After early work in private business, including a role at General Mills and serving as an executive at Planned Parenthood, Sen. Smith transitioned into public service, where she ran local campaigns and became chief of staff to Minneapolis Mayor Rybak and then Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton.
In 2015, Sen. Smith was elected as Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor. She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2017.
