FTA Announces Apportionment of $20.6 Billion in FY26 Funding

3/31/2026

FTA announced $20.6 billion in FY26 funding to support public transportation throughout the U.S., detailed in apportionment tables for each program. Approx. $14 billion in formula funding is now immediately available to FTA recipients.

Made available by congressional passage of the Full-Year Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, which provided funding through the end of FY26, this funding will allow agencies nationwide to continue to make investments in safety, efficiency, and project delivery.

The tables represent close to $14.6 billion in formula funding to transit agencies and communities to support public transportation throughout the U.S., allocated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

The tables contain funding amounts by program type and locality (state, Tribe, or urbanized area) and provide the information needed for grant recipients to begin their applications for FY26 funding through FTA’s electronic grant system, TrAMS.
