FTA Funding Operation Lifesaver, Inc. Rail Transit Safety Education Grants

Applications for Operation Lifesaver, Inc.’s (OLI) Rail Transit Safety Education Grants are being accepted through August 1. The grant opportunity is funded by FTA, providing $140,000 in financial support for rail transit safety education and public awareness initiatives.

Eligible recipients of these grants include transit agencies and governmental entities that provide transit service. The grants are capped at $20,000 each and require non-federal matching funds of at least 25 percent of project costs.

Projects must be focused on safety education or public awareness initiatives in communities with operating or planned rail transit systems such as commuter rail, light rail, subways and streetcars. Grant awards will be announced no later than September 30.
