After 19 years of service, Cherriots’ General Manager Allan Pollock has retired. David Trimble is serving as interim general manager while recruitment efforts continue for a permanent replacement.
As leader of the Salem Area Mass Transit District in Oregon, Pollock helped advance major initiatives such as agency rebranding, restoration of weekend and late-night services, and progress toward zero-emission transit solutions. Maria Hinojos Pressey, president of the Cherriots Board of Directors, said “Pollock’s leadership has helped shape Cherriots into the organization it is today.”

During his time at Cherriots, Pollack was actively involved with APTA. He served on APTA’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Legislative Committee, and several committees geared toward smaller operations. He was also a graduate of the Leadership APTA Class of 2000.
Trimble, previously Cherriots’ deputy general manager, has been with the organization for the last 10 years. He has 30 years of transportation experience, including leadership positions with TriMet, Golden Empire Transit, First Transit, and Kern County Regional Transit.
“I am honored to serve in this interim role and remain focused on maintaining stability, supporting our employees, and continuing to deliver safe and reliable transit for our community,” Trimble said.
