Election Day Is Here. Vote in Support of Public Transit!
11/3/2026

November 3, supporters of public transit across the United States have an opportunity to make their voices heard at the ballot box. Public transit creates jobs, supports small businesses, and brings communities together. But it cannot do that without continued investment at federal, state, and local levels.
APTA urges its members to get out and vote and continue raising our collective voice in support of strong, accessible public transit in communities nationwide. Learn about the candidates and issues on your ballot, make voting plans, and find voter resources at vote.gov.
Voices for Public Transit
APTA’s Voices for Public Transit (VPT) helps transform America’s public transportation network into a truly flexible, accessible, sustainable mobility resource. The bipartisan movement includes people all across the country, in every state, who are raising their voices to realize a vision of strong communities supported by robust, efficient public transportation systems.
VPT provides information about critical public transit issues and opportunities to take action to support public transportation in all communities across the United States. Join VPT and become part of APTA’s public transportation advocacy movement.
Center for Transportation Excellence
APTA’s Center for Transportation Excellence (CFTE) tracks and analyzes public transportation ballot measures from across the country, past and present, and serves as a clearinghouse for information in support of quality transportation choices. CFTE is committed to two main objectives: (1) defending the merits of transit and (2) equipping local leaders with the information they need to be successful with their public transportation initiatives and ballot measures.
CFTE offers a variety of resources for communities exploring the option of ballot-box financing. In addition to campaign case studies, a library of reports and research, ballot language examples, and campaign media samples, CFTE hosts regular events focusing on the latest issues and lessons for transit finance campaigns.
