Review, Comment on APTA Maintenance and Security Standards

The APTA Standards Program has advanced seven new documents for public review and commenting and APTA is seeking feedback from all executive-level industry stakeholders to help shape the language in the documents.
The public comment period is an essential component of APTA’s consensus-based standards development process.
The current set of documents address the following topics:
Brake & Chassis
- Bus Foundation Brake Lining Classification
- Bus Brake Shoe Rebuild
Rail Grade Crossing
- Grade Crossing Warning System Design Criteria, Installation, Maintenance, and Testing
Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance
- Emergency Signage for Rail Vehicles
- Low-Location Exit Path Marking
Infrastructure and System Security
- Trash/Recycling Container Placement at Public Transportation Passenger Facilities
- Development and Implementation of a Security and Emergency Preparedness Plan
