APTA has been named the recipient of Latinos In Transit’s (LIT) Impact Through Partnership Award, recognizing the association’s leadership and ongoing commitment to advancing public transportation and supporting an inclusive workforce.

“As we celebrate 10 Years of Impact, we are recognizing organizations that helped build the foundation of LIT through their partnership, encouragement, and belief in our mission,” said Christina Villarreal, LIT executive director. “APTA has been an important part of our journey, providing opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and industry engagement that have helped our organization grow over the past decade.”

Villarreal added that APTA’s support has helped strengthen LIT’s programs, expand its reach, and create opportunities across the public transportation industry.

Carita Ducre, APTA vice president workforce development and educational services, will accept the award on behalf of the association during the LIT Legacy Gala & Awards Night Sept. 12 in Columbus, OH.
