Axentia Expands U.S. Presence to Support Growing Demand for Real-Time Passenger Information

Swedish passenger information technology provider Axentia is expanding its commitment to the North American public transportation market with the establishment of Axentia Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary designed to strengthen local support for transit agencies and industry partners.
Although the company officially incorporated Axentia Inc. in 2025, the move builds on five years of activity in the U.S., during which Axentia has worked with transit agencies, resellers, and integration partners to deploy energy-efficient real-time passenger information systems.
Today, the company’s technology is in use at more than 20 public transportation agencies across North America.
The expansion comes as agencies of all sizes continue to seek cost-effective ways to improve the customer experience through reliable, real-time service information. Axentia’s systems are designed to simplify deployment in both urban and rural settings, particularly at locations where installing traditional passenger information infrastructure would be prohibitively expensive or technically challenging.
“The response from transit agencies across the U.S. has been very positive,” said Pontus Arvidsson, vice president of Axentia Inc. “Agencies are looking for reliable, flexible and energy-efficient passenger information solutions that can be deployed quickly and cost-effectively, and our experience so far indicates that this is exactly where Axentia can add value.”
Axentia’s technology combines a Transit Intelligence platform with ultra-low-power, battery-powered real-time displays that can be installed without the extensive electrical infrastructure often required by conventional systems. The approach is intended to help agencies expand passenger information to more stops while reducing installation costs and deployment time.
To support its North American growth, the company has established a network of U.S.-based manufacturing and integration partners. According to Axentia, these partnerships help meet local market needs, including Buy America compliance requirements.
Globally, Axentia has more than 30,000 passenger information displays in operation, providing the company with experience across a range of transit environments.
“We see strong long-term potential in North America and are committed to supporting transit agencies and partners with scalable and sustainable passenger information solutions,” said Dick Ollas, CEO of Axentia Group.
