Sen. Blunt Rochester and Rep. Walkinshaw to Speak at APTA Legislative Conference

Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) and Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA) will be speaking at APTA’s 2026 Legislative Conference, April 12-14, in Washington, DC.

Sen. Blunt Rochester is a leading voice in Congress on workforce issues, the future of work, and building an economy that works for everyone. As former Delaware Secretary of Labor and State Personnel Director, she leverages her expertise to advocate for policies that support growth and ensure working families earn a living wage. She sits on the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; Commerce, Science, and Transportation; and Environment and Public Works (EPW) committees.

Rep. Walkinshaw previously served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and chaired the Regional Transportation Planning Board, where he helped align regional transportation planning with environmental goals and expanded transportation options across Northern Virginia. In 2023, he served as Chair of the Virginia Railway Express Operations Board, helping lead the system’s historic plan to grow service and ridership. He serves on the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security, which includes jurisdiction on transportation security. His responsibilities include sitting on the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee.
