One Month Until RWP Implementation Deadline

The deadline to establish a State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA)-approved Rail Transit Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Program is Dec. 2. The RWP regulation sets minimum safety standards to protect transit workers who perform duties on or near the track roadway and applies to all RTAs under the State Safety Oversight program.

Agencies must coordinate with their SSOAs to develop and submit comprehensive RWP programs that include elements such as an RWP manual, track access guide, job safety briefings, redundant protections, training and qualification standards, and compliance monitoring.
