Introducing the Library Express!

Earlier this year, MV Transportation partnered with the city of Santa Clarita, CA, to launch Library Express, a mobile library designed to bring books, technology training, and interactive learning resources to underserved areas, including schools, parks, and senior centers across the Santa Clarita Valley.

Thanks to the dedication of MV’s maintenance team in Santa Clarita, a retired cutaway vehicle donated by Santa Clarita Transit was completely retrofitted and transformed into a fully functional mobile library. The team removed flooring and seats, repainted the interior, installed TVs and shelving, upgraded mechanical systems, and added solar panels and a retractable awning.

Whether it’s Storytime in the park, a pop-up at a community event, or simply checking out a good book closer to home, this custom vehicle delivers the library experience wherever it’s needed most. With its colorful design and welcoming setup, the Library Express is more than a vehicle, it’s a rolling celebration of imagination, connection, and community!
