Webinar: Making Rural Microtransit Work Well

The Transit Cooperative Research Program is hosting a free webinar on Monday, June 15, 12:00–1:00 p.m. (EDT) that will explore how rural transit providers are using microtransit to improve mobility across large service areas, low-density communities, and regions with limited transportation options.

Participants will learn about findings from TCRP Synthesis 178: Microtransit Solutions in Rural Communities: On-Demand Alternatives to Dial-a-Ride Services and Unproductive Coverage Routes. Topics covered include:

  • The current state of practice for rural microtransit across the United States
  • Real-world case studies highlighting how agencies are implementing on-demand service models
  • Key lessons, challenges, and opportunities identified across a range of rural transit providers
  • Factors agencies should consider when evaluating whether rural microtransit is a good fit for their community
