VIA Metropolitan Transit has reopened its newly renovated Randolph Transit Center, marking a significant investment in accessibility and multimodal connectivity in Northeast San Antonio.

Originally one of VIA’s oldest transit hubs, the Randolph Transit Center now features a completely redesigned 4,200-square-foot building that provides riders with a more welcoming and convenient experience. The new facility includes an indoor, air-conditioned waiting area, restrooms, free Wi-Fi, and a customer information center. Riders can access next-bus information screens both indoors and outdoors and take advantage of modern amenities such as a phone-charging counter and charging ports built into seating.

Outside, passengers will find expanded covered waiting areas with new seating, upgraded bus bays, environmentally friendly landscaping, bike lockers, and a striking Art in Transit installation by local artist Leticia Huerta, adding a vibrant touch to the facility’s design.

The Randolph Transit Center serves seven routes—including the 8 North St. Mary’s, 17 IH-35 Express, and 214 Austin Hwy/Randolph Lineup—as well as VIA Link and VIAtrans services. The center functions as a key transfer point for the VIA Link Randolph Zone and a pickup/drop-off site for VIAtrans customers, ensuring seamless connections across the region’s transit network.

With the reopening of Randolph Transit Center, VIA continues its commitment to improving rider experience and building a more accessible, sustainable, and community-centered transit system for the San Antonio region.
