The Akron-Summit County Public Library (ASCPL), OH, launched “Library on the Go” at Akron METRO’s Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center (RKP) recently. Passengers can now access books, magazines, and digital resources with their library card and also use the Library on the Go kiosk to view METRO maps, schedules, and more.

“Using public transportation on a busy schedule should not be a barrier to the library’s wide arrange of resources,” said Angela Neeley, METRO chief financial officer and ASCPL board president. “By bringing the library directly to the community, we empower individuals from all walks of life to engage in the power of reading and education.”

Users may borrow and return physical items using the library lockers and return box and scan QR codes to access information and online tools to explore ideas, topics, and reading.

The initiative is made possible by federal funds from the State Library of Ohio’s American Rescue Plan Act 2021 Outreach Grant.
