October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
The most common cybersecurity incidents threatening public transit agencies involve phishing, email compromise, data breaches, ransomware, counterfeit hardware and supply chain risks.
APTA provides a number of resources and services to help members gain a better understanding of cybersecurity, including educational webinars and sessions at APTA conferences and the development of recommended and best practices. Visit www.apta.com/research-technical-resources/cybersecurity-resources.
In addition, APTA’s Security and Emergency Management Standards Program includes documents covering Enterprise Cybersecurity, Control and Communications Security, Infrastructure & Systems Security, and Security Emergency Management.
