Review, Comment on APTA Standards

The APTA Standards Program has advanced several documents for public review and commenting and APTA is seeking feedback from all executive-level industry stakeholders to help shape the language in the documents.

The public comment period is an essential component of APTA’s consensus-based standards development process.

The current set of documents address the following topics:

Commuter, Intercity, and High-Speed Rail (PRESS)

• Compressed Air Quality for Passenger Equipment
• Manufacture of Wrought Steel Wheels

Rail Transit Systems

• Emergency Egress/Access for Rail Transit Vehicles

Security and Emergency Management

• Random Inspections of Carry-On Items in Transit Systems
• First Responder Familiarization of Transit Systems
• Regional Emergency Planning and Participation in Mutual Aid
