Foothill Transit, West Covina, CA, Rep. Laura Friedman (D-CA), and Rose Bowl leadership convened Aug. 8 at the Rose Bowl to tour one of the agency’s new zero-emission hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered buses, as well as the grounds of the Rose Bowl venue, which is set to host part of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Foothill Transit plays a critical role connecting people to the historic Rose Bowl, and we need to make sure we invest in these services so that athletes, spectators, and locals can move around LA when the Olympics and Paralympics come to town,” said Rep. Friedman.“I’m proud to have secured to a commitment from the federal government from Transportation Secretary Duffy to invest in our public transit ahead of the games, but I won’t stop working to ensure those federal promises turns into actual dollars.”
Millions of spectators and tens of thousands of athletes are expected to come to Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Foothill Transit serves as the last-mile connection between the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) train station in downtown Pasadena and the Rose Bowl.
