NJ TRANSIT Police Rescues Man from Ravine

New Jersey Transit (NJ TRANSIT) police officers helped pull a man to safety near the 9th Street light rail station in Jersey City.

Hoboken Police had been searching for the man since the day prior. On the morning of Feb. 6, the man’s Air Tag began pinging near the station. First responders including Hoboken police and fire spotted him.

In cooperation with the Hoboken Fire Department, NJ TRANSIT Police’s Emergency Services Unit used ropes and a board to secure and hoist the man more than 40 feet up from an icy ravine that he had fallen down.

The man was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to survive.
