New TARTA Bus Line: Taking NW Ohioans To Work

2/17/2026

The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) launched a new service—Route 18—focused on connecting northwest Ohio’s workforce to the area’s employers. The route will leave hourly from downtown Toledo and will stop near several employment centers, including medical facilities and supermarkets.

Further connecting passengers to job centers, TARTA increased frequency on four major routes in direct response to requests from customers. Routes 3, 10, 20, and 31 will move from hourly to 30-minute service during peak hours.

“We’ve been very intentional with our plans as we’ve expanded service to connect more customers to jobs and essential destinations,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. She thanked customers and community members for contributing suggestions at public meetings.

“TARTA is excited to be celebrating its 55th anniversary this year. Route 18 and the rest of these changes signify what you can expect from us going forward—improvements driven by data that maximize the number of residents for whom public transit is a viable option.”
