National Transit Career Day Is a Month Away!

APTA and the public transportation industry are celebrating National Transit Career Day Nov. 13. The day is the perfect opportunity for public transit agencies and businesses to partner in recruiting new talent and engaging current employees.

Here is a quick look at what the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro), Austin, TX, is doing for the day:

CapMetro is celebrating National Transit Career Day in a big way,” says Adam Rosenfield, program manager–workforce outreach. “We partnered with Movability and with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas to design a strategy to connect, inspire, and energize those who move our communities, while highlighting the hard work they do every day!”

CapMetro, Movability, and Workforce Solutions are hosting a career event at the Austin Chamber of Commerce Nov. 13. Mobility professionals are invited to share their career story, while obtaining guidance on training programs to further their careers. Employees and the community will come together for a unique, fast-paced presentation style called PechaKucha (Japanese for “chit-chat”) to tell their career stories. CapMetro, Moveability, and Workforce Solutions expect to hear from engineers, planners, technology professionals, mobility experts, and more.
