MARTA’s Record Ride and NextGen Bus Network 

Three friends broke a world record by visiting all 38 Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) stations in record time. The record helps encourage use of the system—the friends highlighted its efficiency and cleanliness.

In addition, the agency is 100 days away from launching an overhaul of its bus system. Through its NextGen Bus Network, major changes will be made to bus routes, focusing on higher frequency, simpler routes, fewer and better-coordinated transfers, on-demand microtransit services, and consistent seven-day schedules.

MARTA is one of the largest transit agencies in the United States. It moves more than 50,000 riders, supports 24,864 area jobs, and drives billions in economic activity annually.
