John Dickerson to Address APTA 2026 Legislative Conference

3/9/2026

APTA announces veteran journalist and long-time CBS icon John Dickerson as the 2026 Legislative Conference keynote speaker, discussing “The Current Political Climate, Media Landscape, and 2026 Elections.”

With major transportation decisions on the horizon, APTA’s Legislative Conference, April 12-14 in Washington, DC, offers opportunities to learn about important federal legislation—such as the 2026 Surface Transportation Authorization Act—and policy initiatives. The event will also enable attendees to network with peers and shape the industry’s positions and federal advocacy agenda.

John Dickerson has a long and distinguished career in journalism and television hosting, with a track record of both front-of-camera and behind-the-scenes roles. He began co-anchoring CBS Evening News with Maurice DuBois in January 2025, following a successful tenure as the moderator of “Face the Nation.” Dickerson also served as interim anchor for CBS Evening News in 2019 and was named a co-host of “CBS This Morning” in 2018. In addition, Dickerson has consistently contributed to “60 Minutes” as a correspondent.

Outside of his television work, Dickerson is an accomplished author, with titles such as On Her Trail: My Mother, Nancy Dickerson, TV News’ First Woman Star; and The Hardest Job in the World: The American Presidency to his credit.
