FTA Spotlight on Rail Transit Safety Webinar Highlights Best Practices

This See Tracks? Think Train Week, held during Rail Safety Month (September), FTA is hosting a webinar to discuss the importance of making safe choices when driving or walking near rail tracks and trains, Sept. 25 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. Register here to attend.

FTA will provide an overview, and New Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) at Rutgers University will highlight research that uses artificial intelligence to detect trespassing events on rail transit property.

Additionally, Hampton Roads Transit will discuss efforts to promote safe behaviors around its light rail system, and Operation Lifesaver Inc. will discuss safety education and outreach to public transit riders and available resources for transit agencies.
