FTA Announces Apportionment of $20.5 Billion in FY25 Funding
5/7/2025

FTA has announced the availability of FY25 full-year funding detailed in apportionment tables that specify funding to states, urbanized areas, and tribal governments based on statutory formulas.
These tables reflect funding made available via the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, at the FY25 funding levels from Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025. The publishing of apportionment tables allows public transit providers across the U.S. to move forward with applications using this funding to support transit systems and operations.
The tables represent close to $20.5 billion to transit agencies and communities to support public transportation, allocated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The tables provide the funding amounts that each state and urbanized area will receive from FTA in formula funding.
Formula grant programs allocate funding to states, urbanized areas, and transit agencies based on formulas set by Congress, and state governments and urbanized areas decide how much to provide to specific transit agencies and other providers.
These full-year 2025 tables supersede the partial-year apportionment tables FTA released Jan. 17, 2025.
