Deadline Approaching for APTA’s Emerging Leaders Program

January 30 is the deadline to submit an application for APTA’s Emerging Leaders Program Class of 2027. The program is intended for professionals with approximately two to six years of industry work experience, including one to three years managing tasks, projects, or staff. Each APTA member organization may submit one candidate.
The program provides public transportation professionals with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed for advancement. Participants learn from industry leaders while participating in a program that provides opportunities to interact with areas of the industry beyond their specialization.
The program provides an opportunity to:
- Grow leadership skills including emotional intelligence, feedback and coaching, and inclusive leadership
- Deepen knowledge of the public transportation industry
- Benefit from a local and national mentoring program
- Develop a strong network of transit professionals
- Build awareness of the breadth and range of transit career paths and opportunities
- Hone talents and become the best of the next generation of industry specialists, managers, and leaders
