Construction Begins on High Valley Transit’s Newly Named BRT—the Bobsled Express
4/8/2026

High Valley Transit has begun construction on its BRT line that will bring fast, frequent, and reliable transit to Utah’s busy Park City area. The start of construction coincided with the unveiling of the naming of the line. In a vote, the BRT now has a name—the Bobsled Express or simply “the Bob.”
The Bob will serve the area’s most congested routes to move the workforce, residents, skiers, and other visitors from Kimball Junction to Old Town without additional traffic or parking facilities. The BRT was designed to move people efficiently, reduce traffic delays, and provide a dependable alternative to driving.
The Bob will use modern electric buses operating in dedicated bus-only lanes to bypass congestion and stay on schedule as well as mixed-flow lanes shared with other vehicles. The system is expected to move up to 5,000 riders a day on reliable and consistent transit.
Seven miles in length, the Bob will provide 10-15-minute service throughout the day at six stations, seven days a week on ADA accessible, zero-emission electric buses. Services are expected to begin in 2028.
