Elected representative for California’s Assembly District 58, Leticia Castillo (R), toured ENC’s bus manufacturing facility in Jurupa Valley, Riverside. The 227,000-square-foot facility employs approximately 230 people, with the potential for 500 at full production capacity.

On the tour, Castillo observed the end-to-end bus manufacturing process. The assemblywoman, who serves as vice chair of the Assembly Committee on Economic Development, Growth, and Household Impact, said, “ENC is a California success story—over 50 years of American manufacturing…producing transit buses that communities across the country depend on.”

ENC is an example of public transportation’s 3,000 suppliers that create family-wage jobs and drive billions in private-sector growth across every state, as illustrated in APTA’s bus manufacturing schematic. ENC Chief Executive Officer Jason Lee said, “Every bus that leaves this facility represents skilled California workers, American manufacturing, and a direct investment in the communities we serve.”

Vehicles produced at the facility are compliant with federal Buy America requirements, FTA-approved, and ADA complaint. Options include clean diesel, compressed natural gas, diesel-electric hybrid, or battery-electric propulsion in sizes of 30-, 32-, 35-, and 40-feet.
