APTA and WTS International, the Women’s Transportation Seminar, signed an updated collaborative agreement Sept. 13 during the APTA Board of Directors meeting held at the TRANSform conference in Boston, MA.
WTS International Chair Bridgette Beato and new CEO and Executive Director Dr. Malika Reed Wilkins joined then-APTA Chair MJ Maynard-Carey, CEO, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas; and APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas for the signing ceremony. The agreement underscores the collective mission of both organizations to advance the public transportation industry and the professionals who lead it.
Then-incoming APTA Chair Leanne Redden, executive director, Chicago Regional Transportation Authority, stated that the signing was a particularly significant moment for her as her “career has been shaped, supported, and strengthened by my involvement in both WTS and APTA more than any other organizations.”
WTS has been a stalwart and valuable partner of APTA for many years. The new collaborative agreement marks the next evolution of the APTA-WTS relationship.
