APTA Writes in Support of NTD Weekly Reference Reporting Requirement Recission

APTA wrote to FTA Administrator Marcus Molinaro, Dec. 2, in response to FTA’s Proposed Rescission of the National Transit Database (NTD) Weekly Reference Reporting Requirement Notice (Docket No. FTA-2025-0134), as published in the Federal Register at 90 FR 51809 Nov. 18.

“APTA strongly supports rescission of the National Transit Database’s (NTD) Weekly Reference (WE-20) reporting requirement,” the letter stated. “Under the current reporting requirement, approximately 400 urban, rural, and tribal public transit agencies submit WE-20 reports on public transit ridership and service levels. These reports provide limited value and rescission of this reporting requirement will eliminate the considerable administrative burden on public transit agencies of producing these weekly reports.”
