APTA Releases FY26 CIG Program Request Form Guidance
4/24/2025
APTA has released its FY26 Programmatic Request Form Guidance for FTA’s Capital Investment Grants (CIG) program, and encourages APTA members to call on their Members of Congress to support CIG funding.
The CIG program is critical to building transit projects that meet the mobility demands of communities. Today, 61 projects in 25 states have a CIG project in the pipeline requesting $35.3 billion, demonstrating the nationwide demand for transit capital investments. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act authorizes $4.6 billion annually for the CIG program.
The APTA guidance shows the step-by-step process for submitting a programmatic request to Members of Congress for the CIG program. It includes a sample template with answers to commonly asked questions.
The deadline for Members of Congress to submit their priorities to both the House and Senate Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies is May 23.
