APTA Legal Affairs Seminar Draws Record Attendance
3/19/2025

Public transit legal practitioners from across the U.S. gathered for APTA’s Legal Affairs Seminar in Phoenix, AZ, March 16-18. With a record attendance of 169 attorneys, executives, and law professionals, the seminar was the ideal platform to discuss the latest legal issues facing the industry, including regulatory, labor, safety, procurement, intellectual property, ethics, and compliance issues and strategies.
The seminar included sessions addressing recent court cases and provided Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for practitioners.
APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas provided opening remarks, and City of Chandler Councilmember OD Harris, who serves as chair of the Valley Metro Board of Directors, gave the keynote address.
APTA honored the association’s former general counsel, the late Linda Ford, with a special tribute. Bill Moseley, immediate past chair of APTA’s Legal Affairs Committee and principal at Jackson Lewis, was recognized for his outstanding contributions. Jonathan Hunt, chief legal counsel at MARTA, was elected as the committee’s new chair and will begin planning next year’s seminar, in Philadelphia, PA.
Those interested in joining the Legal Affairs Committee and planning activities should contact APTA General Counsel Taria Barron at tbarron@apta.com or Vanessa Nunez, program manager for the Executive Office, at vnunez@apta.com.
