APTA Kicks Off 2025 Mobility Conference and International Bus Roadeo!

APTA is hosting its 2025 Mobility Conference (April 6-9) and International Bus Roadeo (April 4-8) in Austin, TX. The event brings together hundreds of bus and paratransit professionals to discuss industry trends, unveil new products, exchange best practices, and celebrate excellence in bus operations. Attendees also have the opportunity to explore exhibits showcasing cutting-edge mobility innovations and engage in networking sessions. 

“APTA’s Mobility Conference is an important gathering for transportation leaders to share insights, build partnerships, and shape the future of mobility,” said APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas at the Opening General Session April 7. “The conference unites our industry at a pivotal moment. We face tremendous challenges and opportunities with historic funding, transformative technology, and changing rider expectations. Together, we can convert challenges into innovations that will shape mobility for generations.” 

The opening session also featured remarks from APTA Chair MJ Maynard-Carey, chief executive officer, RTC of Southern Nevada; Ray Melleady, president, STER North America LLC; Dottie Watkins, CEO of host agency Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro); Andy Brown, Travis County Judge; Jeffrey Travillion, chair, CapMetro Board of Directors; and sponsor remarks from Andrew Brennan, vice president/national transit & rail practice, HNTB Corporation.

Keynote speaker was Amy Jo Martin, New York Times best-selling author, podcaster, and founder and CEO of Renegade Global, a human transformation company.  

In conjunction with the conference, APTA is hosting the International Bus Roadeo, where drivers and maintenance teams demonstrate their expertise through a series of challenges designed to assess skill and commitment to safety standards. This year’s Roadeo has 380 participants, including 75 drivers, 50 maintenance teams, and 44 combined teams. 

“The Bus Roadeo celebrates the excellence and professionalism prevalent in our industry’s bus operations,” Skoutelas said. “Our operators and maintenance teams are crucial for providing safe, dependable, and efficient transportation services to communities nationwide. The Roadeo honors their skill and commitment to both our industry and their communities.”
