Applications Open for USDOL 2026 HIRE Vets Medallion Award

Many veterans have found second careers in the public transportation industry. Would you like to be recognized for your efforts to be a veteran-ready employer? Businesses that have implemented veteran-inclusive hiring policies and veteran integration assistance programs, can apply for the U.S. Department of Labor’s 2026 HIRE Vets Medallion Award.

The program recognizes employer efforts to recruit, employ, and retain veterans. There are different categories for large employers (500-plus employees), medium employers (51-499 employees), and small employers (50 or fewer employees). Additionally, there are two award tiers: platinum and gold.

Before applying, visit HIREVets.gov for program information and resources, including the award criteria table and sample applications. The deadline to apply is April 30.
