Applications Open for OLI Online Transit Safety Pledge Grant
8/9/2024
National nonprofit rail safety organization Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) has announced a new, competitive Online Transit Safety Pledge Grant. The grant offers a total of $10,000 for a transit agency or government entity to develop a campaign or project, including success metrics, encouraging users to complete any or all of OLI’s three online transit safety pledges. Funding for the new grant is made possible by FTA.
“OLI’s online transit safety pledges empower people of all ages to make safe choices when entering transit stations and riding trains,” said Rachel Maleh, executive director. “This new grant will help develop creative ways for transit agencies across the U.S. to use the pledges in their ongoing rail safety education efforts. I urge all transit agencies to consider applying.”
OLI will offer one $10,000 grant specifically for creative or unique ways to generate interest in and lead users to take and sign any or all of OLI’s three online transit safety pledges:
- Pre-Reader’s Transit Safety Pledge
- Kids Transit Safety Pledge
- Transit Safety Pledge for Ages 13 and Up
The grant will not require a funding match; all transit agencies or governmental entities that provide transit service in the U.S. are eligible to apply.
The deadline to submit applications is Oct. 1. The grant recipient will be announced by Nov. 15. Information on how to apply for the grant, required elements of the application, and evaluation guidelines are available here.
