Review, Comment on New APTA Standards

The APTA Standards Program has advanced six new documents for public review and commenting and APTA is seeking feedback from all executive-level industry stakeholders to help shape the language in the documents.

The public comment period is an essential component of APTA’s consensus-based standards development process.

The current set of documents address the following topics:

Bus Procurement

• Standard Bus Procurement Guidelines

Bus Safety

• Developing a Transit Bus Operator Training Program

Construction and Structural

• Pushback Couplers in Passenger Rail Equipment: Crashworthiness Performance Requirements

Passenger Systems

• Micromobility Device Retainment for Passenger Rail Equipment
• Toxic Gas Generation from Material Combustion on Rail Vehicles

Operating Practices

• Rail Operating Employees Reporting to Work
