SacRT Dos Rios Light Rail Station to Serve Vital Connections

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) opened its 54^th light rail station serving residents, workers, and visitors in Sacramento’s River District, including residents of several new affordable housing communities.

The agency said the Dos Rios Station will serve as a vital connection in the River District, an area experiencing significant residential, commercial, and institutional growth. The station will improve access to jobs, housing, healthcare, services, and other destinations throughout the Sacramento region.

“We are excited to officially welcome passengers to Dos Rios Station and deliver on a vision that has been years in the making,” said SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li. “This new station expands access to reliable public transportation while supporting the continued growth and revitalization of the River District.”

Construction of the station was funded through a combination of state and federal funding. State and local partners included the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, City of Sacramento, California Strategic Growth Council, and California Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation.

The project began in November 2024 and was completed four months ahead of schedule. The agency expects to open its 55^th light rail station—7^th & Railyards Station—later in the year.
