Paratransit Service Helps Connect Students at a Virginia University

The Routing Company is helping Virginia Commonwealth University address its distinct student transportation needs. The university’s two main campuses are located over a mile apart, posing a challenge when it comes to advancing the university’s “One VCU” mission.

The university partnered with The Routing Company to launch RamsLink, a paratransit service that will expand accessible transportation between campuses for students, faculty, and staff. VCU has established multiple registration pathways, including for individuals with temporary mobility needs, ADA placards, and qualifying long-term disabilities. Riders can schedule and manage RamsLink trips through the Ride Pingo app.

The service complements VCU’s broader transportation network as well as RamsLink’s other Pingo-powered campus services. RamSafe provides point-to-point late night campus transportation while RamRide provides shuttle services to remote parking facilities.
