“As a transit-obsessed student, finding APTA was an incredible stroke of luck—literally. I was introduced to the association while traveling through a train station, where I spotted a flyer for APTA’s TRANSform Conference. The minute I learned what it was, and that it was free for students, I knew I had to attend.

TRANSform was the perfect introduction to what APTA offered—a wealth of information and education; an endless network of diverse professionals; and a true sense of excitement, optimism, and commitment to the world of public transit and getting people involved in it. More importantly, it showed me that there was a place for someone like me in public transit, regardless of my college major. APTA even helped me secure my first internship.
