TransLink Breaks Ground on First Real Estate Development Project

8/5/2026

TransLink and PCI Developments have broken ground on a mixed-use development in Vancouver, BC, the first project under TransLink’s Real Estate Development Program. The Broadway-Arbutus development is situated across from the future Arbutus Station, bringing housing, businesses, community amenities, and public transportation together in one location.

The project intends to demonstrate how transit-oriented development can support Metro Vancouver’s growth and a sustainable transit system.

“Today’s groundbreaking is a historic milestone for TransLink,” said CEO Kevin Quinn. “Some of the world’s most successful transit agencies have shown what is possible when transit development and community building go hand in hand. We are bringing that innovative approach to Metro Vancouver by building homes and businesses around transit, while creating a new long-term revenue stream that can be reinvested into our transportation system.”

The development will include a 31-story residential and commercial building with rental homes, including nearly 50 suites priced below market rate. It will also include ground-floor retail, community space, and a public plaza. Construction is expected to be completed in 2029.
