Federal Highway Administration Webinar on Manufactured Products Requirements

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Infrastructure is hosting a webinar to review phased manufactured products requirements on two dates: July 29, 1:00-2:30 p.m. and again on September 30, 1:00-2:30 p.m. (EDT). The webinar will provide an update on implementation of phase 2 of the Manufactured Products Final Rule, which begins October 1.
The Manufactured Products Final Rule terminated FHWA’s 1983 Manufactured Products General Waiver. The rule also established standards regarding Buy America requirements applicable to manufactured products on federal-aid projects and a phased schedule for implementing those standards.
For projects obligated on or after October 1, all manufactured products permanently incorporated into the project must meet the final assembly requirement and the cost of components of the manufactured products that are mined, produced, or manufactured in the United States must be greater than 55 percent of the total cost of all components of the manufactured product.
