Review, Comment on APTA Inspection & Maintenance, Security & Emergency Management Standards

The APTA Standards Program has advanced five new documents for public review and commenting and APTA is seeking feedback from all executive-level industry stakeholders to help shape the language in the documents.

The public comment period is an essential component of APTA’s consensus-based standards development process.

The current document addresses the following topics:

Inspection & Maintenance

• Passenger Rail Equipment Door System Periodic Inspection and Maintenance
• Passenger Car Handbrake Periodic Inspection and Maintenance
• Passenger Rail Equipment Battery System Periodic Inspection and Maintenance
• Passenger Car Electrical Periodic Inspection and Maintenance

Security & Emergency Management

• Evacuating People with Disabilities from Transit Vehicles and Systems
