UITP Posts Video of First Annual World Public Transport Day Celebrations

Transit agencies from across the globe, including those attending APTA’s Legislative Conference, were featured in the International Association of Public Transport’s (UITP’s) video capturing celebrations from the first annual World Public Transport Day on April 17.

The awareness day celebrates the essential role public transport plays in connecting communities, supporting sustainable mobility, and improving the quality of life worldwide. This year, 182 organizations participated across 66 countries, resulting in:

• 3,100 online mentions
• 86 million social media impressions
• 2.1 billion online media impressions

UITP Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani thanked participating agencies. “Together, we’ve shown the power of public transport, connecting people, supporting our economy, and shaping more sustainable cities.”
