HOLON, a manufacturer of autonomous vehicles, has been recognized as a Transit Vehicle Manufacturer (TVM) in the United States, a key prerequisite for participating in public tenders.

“This recognition marks an important step for us,” explains Sven Herzig, chief sales officer of HOLON. “It confirms that we are on the right regulatory path and creates the foundation for resilient partnerships with U.S. transportation authorities.”

HOLON manufactures the HOLON urban, a 15-passenger emission-free autonomous shuttle for line-operations and ride-pooling. The company is planning a production facility in Jacksonville and a pilot project with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA). The mixed-traffic route would be a first of its kind, connecting residential and business areas to a sports and entertainment complex, followed by further extensions of the project.

HOLON and sister company Benteler Mobility have entered a strategic partnership with the bus mobility platform CharterUP to bring autonomous rides to everyday transportation. “By working closely with our partners and customers worldwide, we are transforming proven engineering and industry know-how into scalable, sustainable mobility,” explains Herzig.

The company’s North America regional headquarters are located in Michigan (its global headquarters are in Germany). Its parent company, the BENTELER Group, employs approximately 1,700 people across six facilities in the United States and has invested around $1.2 billion in the United States over the past 15 years.
