CAT Appoints Stephanie Cutter as CEO

Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) appointed Stephanie Cutter as chief executive officer. Cutter has been leading CAT since she was appointed interim CEO in 2024. She will continue to advance initiatives focused on service reliability, workforce development, and community engagement as well as efforts to enhance customer experience, modernize fleets, expand mobility options, and strengthen partnerships across Chatham County, GA.
“CAT plays a vital role in connecting our community to opportunity. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated team and partners to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative transit solutions for the people we serve,” said Cutter.
Cutter brings five years of experience in public transportation, including serving as CAT chief financial officer. Before joining CAT, she was city manager for the City of Savannah, where she worked for 29 years in different capacities.
Detric Leggett, chair of the CAT Board of Directors called Cutter’s appointment a step in the right direction and looks forward to meaningful results for the community.
