LA Metro Selects STV to Boost Reliability of Bus Fleet
2/23/2026

STV has been named to the team that has been awarded a contract by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) to help improve the performance of its bus fleet. The project aims to reduce breakdowns, extend vehicle lifespans, and prepare the agency for its transition to next-generation clean transit technologies.
STV and its partners will support Metro in bolstering the network’s reliability, including Metro’s legacy compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles and its growing fleet of electric buses. The team will help Metro fine-tune maintenance practices, analyze performance data, and make process improvements that keep buses running smoothly and reduce the risk of service disruptions or delays. Working in partnership with Metro staff, STV will help strengthen fleet performance while supporting the agency’s long-term modernization goals.
“Reliable transit is vital for the hundreds of thousands of Angelenos who depend on Metro every day to travel,” said Sam Hrvacic, vice president of bus and road vehicles engineering at STV. “By applying proven engineering and fleet management solutions, we’ll help Metro deliver smoother, safer, and more consistent service. These efforts will extend the lifespan of its buses and reduce maintenance costs, all while continuing to improve the zero-emission bus fleets for years to come.”
