APTA Announces Keynote Speakers for Safety & Risk Management Seminar!

Two joint luncheons will feature two keynote leaders at APTA’s Safety and Risk Management Seminar Dec. 7-10 in San Diego, CA: Shawn Donaghy, chief executive officer, NCTD; and Brian Riley, chief operating officer, San Diego MTS.

North County Transit – San Diego Railroad (NCTD) serves more than 10 million passengers a year in northern San Diego County. The agency has suburban bus and rail lines that also run south into the city of San Diego. Donaghy will discuss the importance of safety, security, and risk management.

Responsible for more than 500 employees and $5 billion in rail infrastructure and assets at San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), Riley will share how he incorporates safety and risk management into his leadership of the agency’s light rail vehicles, maintenance of wayside, track and structures, rail operations, revenue, and facilities departments.

APTA’s Safety and Risk Management Seminar provides an opportunity for practitioners to discuss pertinent safety and risk management issues as well as network and learn from federal and state partners about recently passed rules and regulations, federal oversight, and technical assistance programs.
