Karl Otterstrom Named CEO of Spokane Transit

The Spokane Transit Authority (STA), WA, has confirmed Karl Otterstrom as its new chief executive officer, succeeding E. Susan Meyer, who served as CEO from 2005-2024. Otterstrom was previously interim co-chief executive officer for the agency.

Otterstrom has nearly 20 years of experience in public transportation. He joined the STA executive team in January 2009 as director of planning & development and then became chief planning and development officer. Before STA, he was a transportation planner with King County Metro in Seattle.

For APTA, Otterstrom is a member of the Bus Operations Committee, Planning and Program Development Committee, and numerous subcommittees.
